Ross Berkley

His performing credits include North Central’s Music and Opera Theatres, The Naperville Chorus, and Chicago’s Light Opera Works. Concert works include: Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Gounod’s St. Cecilia Mass, Stainer’s Crucifixion, Vivaldi’s Magnificat, and Haydn’s St. Nicholas Mass. Mr. Berkley has recently enjoyed conducting Sondheim’s Into the Woods, Cole Porter’s Anything Goes, and Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance. In 2005, he was honored to be chosen as music director for the “Naperville Follies”— celebrating Naperville’s 175th birthday. Berkley reestablished the Chamber Singers in 2007 and serves as their director and associate conductor of the Naperville Chorus.

Ross Berkley - Chamber Singers Director

Ross Berkley holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree from North Central College and Lewis University, respectively. While at North Central he served as assistant conductor of the Concert Choir and was recognized as the Fine Arts Department’s “Outstanding Music Major”. He is a member of the IMEA and American Choral Directors Association and serves on the board of directors for the Millennium Carillon Foundation.

Mr. Berkley is an active clinician, guest conductor, accompanist and educator. He has served as the director of choral activities at Lincoln Junior High in Naperville for the past four years, where in 2005 he was recognized by the Naperville Community School District as an outstanding first year teacher. Berkley has held directorial positions with the Young Naperville Singers, first as assistant to Oksana Rodak as well as conductor of the “Boys Choir,” and subsequently as conductor of the “Ensemble Singers.” He has served on the Music and Theatre faculty at the School of Performing Arts, Naperville, since 2002, often collaborating with his wife, award-winning choreographer, Joan Wiltz.
