Picture for Jay MorrisseyJay Morrissey, Tenor has appeared frequently with Milwaukee's Florentine Opera company performing, most recently, as Jaquino in their November 2005, production of Beethoven's Fidelio. Other Florentine credits include the Sailor and Shepherd in Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, and Carlson in Floyd's Of Mice and Men. In August 2005, Mr. Morrissey sang his first Alfredo in Verdi's La Traviata with Chicago's L'Opera Piccola. He has performed for Opera Illinois (Gaston in La Traviata, Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor), The Santa Fe Opera (Frederic in Pirates of Penzance), Opera Theater North (Tamino in Magic Flute, Count Almaviva in Barber of Seville), and Ashlawn Opera (Count Almaviva in Barber of Seville).

Mr. Morrissey is a frequent soloist with Chicago area orchestras. He has appeared with the Marion (Indiana) Philharmonic Orchestra, the West Suburban Symphony, the North Czech Philharmonic, the South Bend Symphony, Handel Week in Oak Park, and the Evanston Orchestra.

Mr. Morrissey is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Roosevelt University.
