| The Naperville Chamber Singers group was formed during September of 1994 as a division of the Naperville Chorus and was directed by William Culverhouse.
The group was
formed to provide the community with concerts in a smaller and more intimate
setting and to provide music for a wide variety of occasions such as meetings, dinners
and community events. Since its formation, the Chamber Singers have performed at
the Naperville Tree Lighting Ceremony and as part of the Christmas program at the
Naper Settlement. Their first formal concert was in the Chapel at Naper Settlement in
April of 1995 and since that time it has presented concerts in St. Procopius Church,
Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, First Congregational Church. and Community United Methodist Church
In 1997, after the resignation of Bill Culverhouse, Ms. Jacqueline Schutt became director of the Chamber Singers. In 2000, Jon Warfel became the directior. In 2007 the Chamber Singers welcomed Ross Berkley as director |
The Chamber Singers draw their selections from a wide variety of styles and periods, from renaisance to modern, from classical to showtunes and from serious to humorous.The group has performed for community groups, includingthe Rotary Club, the Naperville Community Organization, at residence facilities in the Naperville and Downers Grove area. They have sung in programs including other local groups, including singing with the Naperville Mens Glee Club and the Naperville Municipal Band in a fund-raiser for Celebration 2000. and with other local musical groups in the Singing for Seniors program.
